(Seoul, Korea) -- In the midst of the U.S.'s attack on Afghanistan, the South Korean government is trying to tighten its domestic security.

The National Information Service is already attempting to railroad an anti-terror bill in the National Assembly amid harsh criticism raised from civic-social groups circle.

In the meantime, many civic-social groups in Korea have expressed deep concern over the government's unilateral measure to allegedly repress people's rights to assembly and freedom of expression in the name of national defense.

According to a statement published by an alliance of civic-social groups, even demonstrations organized by activists will likely be found guilty as a form of "terror instigation" by the draconian anti-terror bill.

A public discussion on the anti-terror bill is scheduled to be held in downtown Seoul today.
