Perhaps days or hours before the attack last weekend several hundreds of thousands demonstrators protested against the planned U.S. aggression against iraq.
In berlin, germany around 100.000 people participated a candle chain. Massive protests took place also in the german cities like frankfurt, nurnberg and hamburg.
In the North Italian city Milano about 700.000 people took the streets to protest against the U.S. War diplomacy.
In paris, brussels and zurich tens of thousands demonstrated. In montreal 100.000, in san francisco also hundreds of thousands to the streets. In tokyo more then 10.000 protestors. And even in vietnam thousands marched against the U.S. plans to attack iraq.
Here in the South Korean capital seoul thousands of demonstrators participated a rally and a following demonstration (several times blocked by massive riot police units). The protestors also demanded the withdrawing of U.S. Troops (u.s.f.k.) out off the korean peninsula.
Mostly the young people here see the U.S. military presence in South Korea as the real obstacle for the peace process between north and south. First time in a anti war demonstration a large number of foreigners and migrant workers joined the protest.
Migrant workers here want to join the anti war campaign with a advertisement in a well known news paper next tuesday. In the night of starting the war a massive demonstration near the U.S. embassy here is planned.
