-- Right on the heels of the Asia Internet Rights Conference, Jinbonet and Chungang University again hosted a gathering of high-tech activists from around the world. The third annual Seoul International Labor Media Conference, held on the campus of Chungang University, ran from November 12th to the 14th. Along with some new faces, many of the same participants who attended last weekend's conference stayed in Seoul to shift their focus from the internet to a broader treatment of progressive media.
Entitled "Labor Movement and Media : Workers, Information & Communication Technology, and Solidarity," the small but dedicated and diverse group of media scholars and activists prepared both traditional and multimedia presentations to highlight local strategies for community empowerment using an arsenal of video, radio, television, and the internet.
A more detailed report on the conference will be posted shortly.
