(June, Taepyongro, Seoul) = Union of Media Workers, nation¡¯s top umbrella press union(www.pressunion.or.kr) in Korea sets a stage for mass demonstration in downtown Seoul, calling for independence of editorial policy, pullout of decayed management, revision of periodicals, normalization of newspaper market, and implementation of sales service pooling on newspaper.
Meanwhile, a rank and file of union workers including labors and campus press reporter march to the Myongdong Cathedral.
In the meantime, the Union of Media Workers in alliance with Peoples¡¯ action for newspaper (www.goodpaper.org) reform will take up a campaign for signing towards citizens on the nationwide from 18th to 23th this month.
