Korean people say "No fingerprints!"

Nov. 21 (Seoul, Korea) -- Hundreds of civilians have joined forces to express their opposition to the South Korean government's decision to require all citizens to place ten fingerprints on their registration card.
The No Fingerprint Movement has campaigned against the registration system for the past two years. They have collected 1930 signatures of citizens all over the country who favor their goals, which can be found on www.idlaw.net.
In the meantime, the Korean Progressive Network (Jinbonet), along with other progressive social groups, will hold a press conference to speak out against the present registration system.
According to their statement received by BASE21, Jinbonet will criticize the South Korean government for the current registration database which contains information on every civilian, including their driver's license, identification number, criminal record, and home address.
