Q: Who are the main participants in Europe Korean Solidarity mainly?
A: Our incumbent president is Lee Jong-hyon. Other members are: General Secretary Yoon Oon Sup, Reunification committee secretary In Soe Chon, Solidarity action committee secretary Choi Jeong Kyu, Culture and Education committee secretary Choi Yoon Sook, France branch leader Hong Sae Hwa, and Italy branch leader Lee Dong Hwa

Q: How was the process of establishing the solidarity organization?
A: During the period of people's ceremony of May, 2000 in Europe, we got the idea of founding this solidarity committee from Korean progressive people who live in Europe. In October, 2001, we achieved it. The solidarity is not an organization, but a kind of progressive network with activists in Europe. In May of this year, we finally established this solidarity network with 44 initiators.

Q: What is the most difficult thing for Korean European people?
A: The movement of Koreans abroad was at the height of its prosperity in the 1980s to 1990s. They struggled against ex-president Chun Du-whan's military dictatorship and also conducted solidarity activities with Korean workers. In the 1990s, they focused on the issue of reunification of the two Koreas. But now they are very old and I think it is time for second-generation Koreans to lead these movements. But most of the second-generation Koreans are very European in terms of language and culture. Continuing our activities with second-generation Koreans is our biggest problem.

Q: Does this committee have any plans to make international solidarity?
A: We, including Kim Jin-hang, participated in the activities of the Korea Truth Commission, a coalition of civic groups working on the issue of war crimes committed by the U.S. during the 1950-53 Korean War. We also joined the second's playing of farmers musical instruments. And July this year, we struggled against the G-8 meeting in Genoa and made international solidarity Korean People's Action (KoPA).

Q: What is Europe Korea the this solidarity's plan for the future?
A: We are trying to strengthen the relationship with Korean-Europeans and we will be forming solidarity links with South Korean progressive groups and progressive movements. Expecially, We are having the plan to arrest Kim Woo-chung who was the chair of Daewoo Motor internationally.
