People converged in front of the White House for a peace rally in opposition to the U.S.-led bombings in Afghanistan.
More than 100 people have converged as of Sunday evening, with more expected to gather throughout the night.
Because of the the number of people at the park, people have started marching in the street along Pennsylvania Avenue.
The police are reported to be restrained and are letting the rally occur without interference. People are chanting slogans such as "No more money for the war; we want money for the poor" and "Stop the bombing now."
Earlier today, President Bush announced that the United States has dropped bombs on Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. At 5 pm today there will be a Pro-Peace Demonstration.
Additionally, the Washington Peace Center is calling on people to turn on their porch lights and light candles in solidarity with the Afghani people and in opposition to the war.
