KPSU rally at the downtown

On the 20th of April, KPSU held a rally at the downtown Kwang-hwa-moon street, near Government Complex, condemning Kim Dae-jung government for rejecting direct negotiation, with its affiliated unions such as Korea
Telecom Trade Union, Dacom Trade Union and so on.
At the street rally, before fifteen participants, Heo Young-goo, vice-president of KCTU, said, "Many people's organizations, including KCTU-affiliated unions, are making support statements for KPSU's struggle", and he also condemned both the government and FKTU, moderate
labor federation, "for reaching an agreement on special law of Tripartite Commission, in spite of KCTU's all-out struggles".
Lee Kwang-young, president of Korea Electric Technology Trade Union, blamed the government for "its attempt to reduce the personnel by 10%, around 220 workers". According to his remark, the present govenrment had already reduced the personnel by 15%, around 400 workers last year. In conclusion, he appealed to the workers for propelling the all-out struggle, not based on respective corporate workers' selfish interest but on common interests of all the workers.
Kim Ho-seon, co-chair of newly-formed KPSU, said, "Korea Telecom Trade Union has decided to launch a strike in its general assembly and will join the ranks of subway workers' struggle, following to the guideline
of KPSU and KCTU".
