Union workers are engaged in a struggle against part-time
work, wage progression and two-tier wage systems among other
issues. The Teamster Local 439,(Summit Logistics) and Machine
Lodge 1546 are on strike right now because of UNSAFE WORKING
CONDITIONS. Drivers are paid by the delivery, they want to
be paid hourly like any other worker.
Bakery and Confectionery Workers, Local 125, (See's Candies)
walkout enters it's 6th week. Women comprise 85% of See's
bay area workforce. They are seeking a wage increase, improved
pension plan, and health and welfare benefits for seasonal
workers. Workers at See's are routinely laid off before they
qualify for benefits. Our Sisters & Brothers need our support.
Let's mobilize to show our support and our solidarity.
