The Seoul Administrative Judgment Court on January 18 ruled that the plaintiff, Matanda Twenian from Burma, wife of a former illegally hired worker in Korea, won against the Labor Welfare Corporation at the trial over payment of compensation for the bereaved family, and cancellation of not-pay decision for the funeral bill, stating that the action by the Labor Welfare Corporation was irregular, and the compensation should be paid because her husband died from overworking.
The court predicted on the decision, it is possible that her husband had a sudden physical disorder as he commonly suffered too much mental and physical fatigue from routinely excessive working, and worked overtime everyday on the last days before he died , To figure out the situation when he died, it seems that her husband died from heart disorder from accumulated fatigue, so it is a occupational accident .
Twenians husband, entered in 1997 as a trainee, escaped from the original company and then worked as a assistant cutter machine operator at a book printing company. When he died in April 1999, he worked night and day swift working and waited for the next term of voluntary departure period for illegal staying workers as his physical condition was not good at that time.
