The military-police have pitched a camp in front of the district party chapter of the Democratic Party and a bank located at the side of street from Bupyoung station in order to keep an eye on Bypung factory. Moreover, they are lined up in a row at the exit at Bupyoung station. The numbers of the military-police shift back and forth from eleven to twenty-one and lined up facing the rotary of Bypyoung station square. Welding the door of the labor union office

The office the labor union was blocked completely--every pathway to the labor union was closed. A union member working for the department of press said "the entrance of the office of the union has been welded, as well as the corridor from the mess hall to the office and the opposite side.

Another union member working at the second department of carbody said " Any delegate who tried to enter the factory with a leaflet was discovered and taken away." The head foreman, implying 'field senior'also said that "a delegate from the second department of the assembly tried to distribute the leaflet, but was taken away by the service man hired by the company. The company is blocking the lawful activity of the union completely"

"Write Out the Absent Delegate"

A union member working at the press department disclosed that "the company coerce us to write out anyone absent as having worked hard for union's activity, " a union member working at the second department of carbody said in agony "the executive members compel us not to go to the Sangokdong church and to be in quiet"

The company also hired service corps and started watching the union members. The Bupyoung factory hired service corps. The service corps who seem to have just graduated from high school or came out of the army appear infallibly in any place that is crowded with workers, such as the mess hall to 'watch union members.' What is worse, when two or three workers get together, they said indirectly, but coercively "what are you talking about?"

It was said that emergency police had patrolled the main street in a group of four. Laborers were dispirited about going to work. "A guard rail was built along the main gate, west gate and south gate, employing workers to control the laborers. To enter the factory we must show an ID-mark one after another. We were attacked," said the union labors belonging to the second section of the car frame. When in the office, the so-called factory captain pointed out each section's union representatives, and then proceeded to take away pamphlets by force.

Police Continually Reside and Union Labors' Access are Controlled.

All gates to Bupyung factory were blocked by emergency police. Their 9 buses were on wide street inside the main gate, 6 on the parking lot, and about 20 in storage. They were parked in the mess hall by the playground and transferred to the old dining room on 14th.

With the publication of a consulting company's opinion that the Bupyung factory must be closed, the site was stirred at the factory

lockout news where they had not talked about union administrative of Sangok-dong cathedral and mass layoffs. According to the recent 'Hanmaum,' a newsletter printed by the company stated that another mass layoff was inevitable.

Union Labors of the press said that the factory lockout or mass layoff was planned and the 1,750 layoffs was a result of selling the factory to GM, not for normalizing. "There is no solution, we cannot but fight after recovering the power," the workers said.
