Dacom has launched a package of e-commerce solutions that will help small and medium-sized firms run Internet shopping malls at affordable costs.

The company said yesterday its new "EC Package" will provide infrastructure for online business including server, shopping mall system, electronic payment and broadband Internet access.

The package, available with a monthly fee of 960,000 won, will relieve venture firms of much of the cost burden associated with starting up e-business, a Dacom spokesman said.

Establishing an Internet shopping mall typically costs 8 million won in initial investment, and additional monthly fee for a virtual private network (VPN).

Dacom has formed a strategic alliance with other companies to facilitate its foray into B-to-B commerce sector.

Hewlett-Packard Korea will host Web servers, PionSoft will provide an online shopping mall solution, and Dacom will handle broadband Internet connection and electronic settlement system. In partnership with Industrial Bank of Korea, it will also help its clients receive bank loans with low rates in purchasing the package.
